The film is based on a novella of the same name, written by acclaimed Pakistani writer Shandana Minhas and is directed by Sumar.Rafina is a story about a woman, from a very low income group, who wants to be a model. The film is a modern day Cinderella story of Pakistan about a girl who wants to be the next big thing.
